Xi 'an Jiaotong University

Xi 'an Jiaotong University (XJTU) is one of the earliest renowned institutions of higher learning in China and a key university directly under the Administration of the Ministry of Education. 1955 The Central Government decided to move Jiaotong University to Xi 'an. Since 1956, teachers and students have moved to Xi 'an in batches. In 1957, xi 'an and Shanghai jiaotong University were divided into two parts under unified leadership. In 1959, the xi 'an part of Jiaotong University was renamed Xi 'an Jiaotong University. In the same year, it was listed as one of the sixteen key universities in China. In 2000, The State Council decided to merge Xi 'an Jiaotong University, Xi 'an Medical University and Shaanxi University of Finance and Economics to form the new Xi 'an Jiaotong University.
